More rumours about the onscreen adventures of our favourite DC characters tonight, guys.
It seems that JJ Abrams, who has now signed a big deal with Warner Bros (and is likely leaving Star Trek behind) is looking to get back to DC after almost making a movie called Superman: Flyby a number of years ago.
Now word is that Abrams wants to make a Superman movie AND a Green Lantern movie as part of the current DCEU… it’s also worth noting that Abrams and The Batman writer and director Matt Reeves are besties.
Now, this report also says that Cavill has stepped down as Superman and Abrams wants to cast a younger actor more in line with the younger Batman in Reeves’ movie because “Superman can’t be older than Batman”.
So, here’s my take on this… Cavill is a perfect Superman and Reeves movie is (likely) set some years before the older Batman we met played by Ben Affleck, so there’s no need for a recasted Superman.
So, this is all just a rumour so take it with a pinch of salt.
But I do want to hear your thoughts, folks…
