Oh, could there be something happening with Black Canary in the DCEU?
Actress Jurnee Smollett played Dinah Lance/Black Canary in the Birds of Prey movie and, while the movie wasn’t terribly good and was met with lukewarm reviews, Smollett was one of the elements that did work in the movie and that fans – myself included – regarded as a success along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntess and would certainly be open to seeing more of.
And now Smollett has taken to social media and posted an image of herself reading the Green Arrow story The Longbow Hunters graphic novel with the tease: “I’d love to make babies with you Oliver, but I won’t make Orphans.”

Now, obviously this could be nothing but it’s also possible that Smollett knows something that we don’t.
In the comics Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow is Black Canary’s lover and there’s always online rumours about the character – now stepped down from TV’s Arrowverse where the role was played by Stephen Amell – making his debut in the DCEU.
And the favourite for the role seems to always be Pacific Rim’s Charlie Hunnam. Could we be seeing something coming?
It’s all speculation but I’d certainly be up for seeing a Green Arrow and Black Canary movie on the big screen. What say you all?
