Could we have got a glimpse of Magneto in the MCU?
Andy Park, Marvel Studios’ director of visual development on Black Widow, Shang-Chi, The Marvels and Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania posted an image on his Instagram (here) which he then quickly deleted.
The image, below, clearly shows various designs for Erik Lehnsherr AKA Magneto’s helmet and it has to be assumed it’s for the MCU with The X-Men now belonging to Marvel/Disney.
Now, we know that sooner or later Magneto, Professor X and the rest of the team will eventually appear in the MCU but this is our first potential glimpse of what that will look like.
This version of Magneto is rocking a think, grey beard and, sadly, it’s hard to tell who is anticipated to be playing the character – it’s likely the art is not based on anyone in particular, but we can’t help feeling that with the Multiverse about to come into play and the MCU’s Deadpool 3 set to film soon (here), we should just get Michael Fassbender back in the role.
Anyway, check the art out below and feel free to let me know what you think it means as we have not heard anything of the mutants coming into the MCU yet… but it can’t be far away if this is the real deal.
