If, like me, you adored Sinners, then you’ll be excited to hear – although not surprised, probably – that a sequel is reportedly already in development.
While Ryan Coogler’s blues/vampire flick has a pretty self-contained story, there’s definitely room for additional stories in that world and, since it was a big hit, you’ll not be shocked to hear the a sequel is now being planned with Coogler apparently set to return behind the camera according to Production Weekly.
While the movie was shopped as having franchise potential, when exactly coogler will get to it, given that he’s currently developing Black Panther III at Marvel and also the new X-Files series.
Whatever happens, the movie looks like it’s happening… you just can’t keep a good vampire down.
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ryan Coogler, Sinners stars Michael B. Jordan (the “Black Panther” and “Creed” franchises) in a dual role, joined by Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (“Bumblebee,” “True Grit”), Jack O’Connell (“Ferrari”), Wunmi Mosaku (“Passenger”), Jayme Lawson (“The Woman King”), Omar Benson Miller (“True Lies”) and Delroy Lindo (“Da 5 Bloods”).
The film is produced by Coogler and frequent collaborators Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. The executive producers are Ludwig Göransson, Will Greenfield and Rebecca Cho.
