Looks like Netflix has renewed its hit docu-series sci-fi drama, Black Mirror for an eighth season.
Speaking about the show’s return, creator Charlie Brooker said: “Black Mirror will return, and hopefully it’ll be more Black Mirror than ever.
“Luckily it does have a future, so I can confirm that Black Mirror will return, just in time for reality to catch up with it. So, that’s exciting. That chunk of my brain has already been activated and is whirring away.”

The series has always liked to take a darkly humourous, reality-bent way of looking at our world and where, as technology takes over, it may be headed – the title itself is a reference to the blank, dark screen of a tablet when it’s turned off – but with the whole world seemingly having embraced AI in the last year not to mention all the other madness going on, some of its subject matter seems more fact than fiction.
When season seven aired last April, it featured the long-running show’s first ‘sequel’ with the crew of the USS Callister returned for an episode called Into Infinity. No word on if the new season will see this crew return or even, indeed, if we will see another sequel episode…
