WATCH: Laika reveals Wildwood’s release date in stunning announcement art

Laika has revealed the release date for it’s highly, highly anticipated new movie, Wildwood, and the timing couldn’t be better.

The studio that brought us Coraline, Paranorman and more, will release Wildwood a week before Halloween on October 23rd… right as spooky season kicks off!

The announcement came on social media via a beautiful piece of art that features all of their characters and zooms and zooms until we enter the world of Wildwood.

For more than a decade, Laika’s craftspeople have been shaping the world of Wildwood through meticulous hand-built sets, intricate animation, and boundless imagination. Pittock Mansion becomes more than brick and stone: it becomes a gateway into a realm where humans and animals live hand in paw and talon… a world of secrets waiting to be uncovered.

From director Travis Knight, Wildwood is based on the bestselling novel by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis.

Starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg and Jemaine Clement.

Wildwood releases on October 23rd, 2026.
