Well, it’s officially on, the hunt to find the next James Bond.

Yes, the world’s greatest spy isn’t going to let an insane decision like killing him off in the last movie keep him down as Amazon MGM has released a statement, below, saying: “The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”

The search is being overseen by Nina Gold, who has previously overseen casting on shows such as Game of Thrones and The Crown as well as Star Wars, The Martian, and Conclave, so she knows her job very, very well.

The movie is set to be directed by Dune and Dune 2’s Denis Villeneuve.

Tidbit:

Lana Del Rey has recorded the theme song for the upcoming James Bond video game 007: First Light, starring young Dexter Morgan himself, Patrick Gibson, giving the game a truly cinematic flavour. Check out the song here:

Speaking recently at CinemCon, Amazon MGM’s head of film, Courtenay Valenti, said: “It is the dream of a lifetime for all of us to bring audiences this next chapter, and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly… and when the time is right, we’ll have much more to share.”

There are already numerous rumours about who will be playing the iconic role this time out, but what we do know is that they’re looking for a younger actor, someone who can fill the role for several years and movies.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
