Big news for Conan the Barbarian fans as a new animated series is officially in the works at Amazon Video with some serious talent behind it.
Samurai Jack, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Primal’s Genndy Tartakovsky will be overseeing Conan the Barbarian: Queen of the Black Coast for the streamer, a project Tartakovsky has wanted to do for years and if you’ve seen Primal, you’ll see a lot of Conan in there.
After finding love in the pirate queen, Bêlit, a battle-hardened Conan defies gods, fate, and even death to save her from a dark sorcery that threatens to destroy everything.

At Prime Video’s Studio Focus panel at the Annecy Film Festival, the series based on Robert E Howard’s famous sword and sorcery character was officially announced.
‘The upcoming show will follow Conan after he meets Bêlit, the legendary pirate queen who becomes one of the most important people in his life. According to Amazon’s description, the series will see Conan fighting against powerful forces as he tries to save Bêlit from a dangerous dark magic threat that could destroy everything around them.’
The project is being developed by Genndy Tartakovsky.
The project comes as fans are anxiously waiting to see Arnold Schwarzenegger return to the role that arguably made him famous, with his announced King Conan movie, a sequel to 1982’s Conan the Barbarian and 1984’s Conan the Destroyer.

There’s no release date for Conan the Barbarian: Queen of the Black Coast or King Conan as of yet.
