It’s been rumoured for many years, but it looks like the World War Z sequel is finally really happening.
You may recall that back in 2019, David Fincher, who was set to direct the sequel to the Brad Pitt zombie flick before all plans fell apart and, while there were always rumours, it never really looked like it would happen.
Well, like the undead in the first movie, the sequel is now back and fighting to survive.
Tidbit
Years before he jumped in the TARDIS, Peter Capaldi co-starred in World War Z as a World Health Organisation doctor, meaning he was a WHO Doctor before he starred in Doctor Who. Hee hee.
Word is that Paramount is about to sign Pitt back up to return as Gerry Lane in the new movie set to be directed by Conclave’s Edward Berger.
World War Z was based on a novel by Max Brooks in 2006 which broke down what exactly would happen if there was a zombie plague across the globe.
While the book was a series of studies and random events and how the impacted on people and places, the movie put Pitt’s character in the centre of the action, creating a narrative and character that the audience could follow and root for.
The sequel is being written by together and The Third Day’s Dennis Kelly.
