The Batman Part II is currently in production but it’s been a bumpy ride so far.
Just last week, it was announced by Warner Bros that writer/director Matt Reeves had to leave the production, causing the movie to stall. The studio said: “Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”
Obviously, whatever Reeves is facing is much more important than a movie and our thoughts and prayers are with him and whatever family matter has led to this.
Just a few days ago, Batman/Bruce Wayne himself, Robert Pattinson said of the situation: “We’re pausing for a little bit and then we are going to figure it all out.”

Now it has been revealed that Reeves will not be returning to the set and Ocean’s 11 and Traffic director Steven Soderbergh will be brought in to help complete principal photography.
However, don’t panic; this isn’t a Joss Whedon finishing Justice League when Zack Snyder had a family tradigedy situation.
Taking to social media after the news broke, Reeves wrote: “Just to be clear, I am not leaving The Batman Part II. I am profoundly grateful to Steven for coming to my aid during this challenging time to help me finish principal photography. Thank you to all for your concern and well wishes.”

As of now, it seems that the plan is for Soderbergh to work in London, while Reeves operates out of LA, including working on the movie’s post-production. Filming is well over halfway at the time of Reeves’ departure,
“I thought Matt Reeves’ work on The Batman was stunning; it was intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent,” Soderbergh says about stepping into the director’s chair: “The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”
As I said already, whatever Reeves is going through with his family must always take priority over the production of a movie and we hope that, whatever is wrong, a happy resolution lies ahead.
The Batman Part II stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, Brian Tyree Henry, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Reál and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez. We’re also hearing that Barry Keoghan’s Joker will return.
