Matt Reeves has shared a new camera test of Robert Pattinson’s Batman from the currently filming The Batman: Part II and it serves as a teaser and as an announcement of the movie’s new release date.
Love those longer ears and I’m very happy they kept the Gotham by Gaslight collar on the cape.
The movie was originally set for October next year but now it’s set for February 18th, 2028.
Given that Reeves’ The Batman was released in 2022, this is a significant delay in releasing the sequel but we’ve had The Penguin series in between and there’s an excellent Riddler comic series too (and a young-adult novel), so there’s other content out there for you to get caught up.
But still… six years.
However long it takes, this is a rich universe and I will seated opening night.
The Batman Part II stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, Brian Tyree Henry, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Reál and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez. We’re also hearing that Barry Keoghan’s Joker will return
New suit, new release date, thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.
The Batman returns 18th Feb 2028
