Joss Whedons take on Shakespeares play Much Ado About Nothing has hit the inter-web…
Whedon shot the film at his house in 12 days when he was supposed to be having a break between principal photography and post-production on The Avengers.
The story, a modern-day take on Shakespeare’s romantic comedy drama, focuses on a house party and wedding whereat the lives of two couples intertwine. Young lovers Hero (Jillian Morgese) and Claudio (Fran Kranz) are about to get married, and mischievously convince their warring friends Beatrice (Amy Acker) and Benedict (Alexis Denisof) that they’re secretly in love with one another. But Hero and Claudio are themselves ripped apart by a lie, and much complication and conflict ensues before everyone’s love life is set back on the straight and narrow. Nathan Fillion and Tom Lenk, meanwhile, play foolish local watchmen Dogberry and Verges.
Much Ado About Nothing is due for release on June 14
