Hugh Jackman unsure about playing Wolverine again

December 6th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Even though James Mangold is developing a Wolverine sequel for 20th Century Fox, Hugh Jackman is seemingly once again having doubts about reprising the character again. Speaking with Vanity Fair (via CBM), he said he was still undecided about doing the next solo film:

“I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.”

When asked if there was at least a script:

“No there is not but Jim Mangold and I were literally on the phone last night talking about ideas but there is no script and no writer yet so it’s a way off.”

Jackman has previously revealed he’s not committed to any other future films in the X-Men franchise following next year’sX-Men: Days of Future Past. You may remember though that at one point he wasn’t really interested in that film either. It was just yesterday that Bryan singer teased the next movie in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse set for May 27, 2016. Might he not be interested in that as well?

Do you want to see Hugh Jackman return in more X-Men or Wolverine movies? Who can you see replacing him?
