While we all wait with baited breath to see how HBO’s new Harry Potter series turns out, Audible have assembled a cast to die for as they debut details on their new all-cast adaptation of the JK Rowling novels.
Boasting over 200 voices, the first book in the iconic series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorceror to you Americans) will arrive on the audiobook platform in November.
The recording of the series started earlier this year to created these unabridged editions of Rowling’s works.
This really will be something to behold for Potter fans.

The cast is as impressive as the movies themselves with Hugh Laurie (House MD) as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen (Spooks) as Voldemort, Riz Ahmed (Rogue One) as Professor Snape and Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who) as Professor McGonagall. The books will be narrated by The Good Fight’s Cush Jumbo.
As for the core three,
Young actors Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton will play Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger int he first three novels – Stanton is also playing Hermione in the upcoming HBO series. Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis will take over the roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione in the last four novels.

Hugh Laurie said in a statement: “I’m honored to have been trusted with the keys to Albus Dumbledore, and thrilled to be able to take him around the track of this beautiful incarnation by Pottermore and Audible. I’m also deeply conscious of previous drivers Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, Jude Law and the iconic narrations by Jim Dale and my colleague Sir Stephen Fry,” and addressing John Lithgow’s casting as Dumbledore in the HBO series, he added: “headed our way, is the rough beast John Lithgow, his hour come round at last. This is great company, and it’s a privilege to be among their number.”

I’m a big fan of the Potter series since the original novels came out, so I will certainly be getting these.
