Red Hood

With Gotham being the “origin story” to many a Batman villain, the question continues to rise about who will show up, and in what capacity. Easily one of the biggest “will they show up?” questions is about Joker. The writers have teased he may be in the series, if he’s not already…

Today though, we got confirmation that a key element in the Joker backstory is going to arrive in Gotham. The Red Hood is coming…

Gotham’s executive producer Bruno Heller said: “There’s going to be an episode that involves the Red Hood.

“Which picks up that strand, the costume strand, and sort of gives a kind of philosophical base, if that’s not too pretentious a word. Why costumes? What’s the power of costumes? What’s the power of a mask? All of that groundwork will be laid sort of culturally for that side of the DC Universe before we start rolling into the more spectacular spandex type of deal.”

For those who don’t know, Red Hood is the “persona” Joker took on in his early days. It is in this persnoa that he fights Batman in the Ace Chemicals factory and falls into a vat of chemicals, thus becoming the Joker.

It’s unclear whether THE Joker will be under the Red Hood, but it’s clear that this character will have an impact on the series.
