COMIC REVIEW: FTN reviews Batman & Ra’s al Ghul #32

June 22nd, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Writer: Peter J. Tomasi

Artist: Patrick Gleason

Published by DC Comics

The Hunt for Robin arc continues on! In fact, it almost hits its conclusion…or does it?

Tomasi continues to weave a pretty emotional web in this title and it is surprisingly involving more than just Bruce. There is a strange amount of tenderness in Ra’s’ actions. In a way, it seems Bruce and Ra’s are almost mirroring each other in their threats for if anything they perceived as bad happens to Damian. I think that’s a pretty interesting way to go about these characters. And Titus! Titus needs more action. I love when he’s involved in basically anything.

I continue to feel absolutely spoiled by Pat Gleason and his crew. Their talent is so wonderful and in the best ways. I can’t tell you how beautifully sad all the panels of Damian in his coffin were to me. And that battle with Ra’s was pretty sweet too, I’ve gotta say.

So, Bruce gets Damian back, and all hope of the assassin child coming back is dead…or is it? Judging by that last page…well, who knows what’s going to happen next!
