Fight Club 2 is coming to Dark Horse Comics

July 23rd, 2014 by Marc Comments

Fight Club is back folks! Chuck Palahniuk is teaming up with Dark Horse Comics to bring our unnamed anti-hero back to life for a second round in a 10-issue series.

Picking up a decade after the original story, we now find our unnamed narrator married to his mind warped lover Marla Singer. The couple has a 9 year old boy named Junior, who unfortunately is being failed by his dad in the same way the narrator’s dad failed him. According to Palahniuk, we also will get a special look into the origins of the character who defined cool in the late 90’s, Tyler Durden. “Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that’s popped into his mind.”

Returning for round 2 is the group that formed from Fight Club, Project Mayhem. The narrator will still have some form a connection with them as they will play a role in Junior’s life being in danger with his father having to save him.

I’m not too sure about the idea of Tyler being some centuries old specter, it sounds a bit like the Dark Passenger from the Dexter novels, but it will be fun to see the gang reunited again, and in a comic book no less. Look for Fight Club 2 to hit your local comic shop in May of 2015.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
