Hello and welcome to the latest episode of the Following the Nerd Show

On the show this week we’ll be talking to Brett Battles about his book Rewinder, a time-travel story that takes many of the conventions and flips them on their head.

We’ll also be talking to Ciaran Flannagan about the awesome Batman event going on in Derry/Londonderry

Plus, in the news, we finally have a title for the first Star Wars spin-off movie as well as a few tidbits on episode VIII… and is JJ Abrams coming back for more after The Force Awakens?

Mallrats is 20 years old (?!) and getting a sequel confirms director Kevin Smith… but just where would Brodie and the crew be in the modern world?

Pau Feig has been continuing to urinate over everything held dear by true Ghostbusters fans and he has revealed there actually IS something he doesn’t want to ruin…

Is Sherlock Holmes a timelord? Well, after Benedict Cumberbatch returns this christmas you may just be wondering this very thing… we’ll tell you why.

Plus, Dredd, it seems, is definitely NOT getting a sequel. Writer Alex Garland spells it out.

And we’ll have stuart from the monday movie show on with the biggest reviews and the box office top hitters… and Jim Parsons and Rihanna’s animated adventure Home will be coming under the microscope.

As always, I’m your host Marc and with me once more in the studio I have the man who, just two weeks ago, got himself in a bit of trouble with the law by running around in tights at night; he told the police he was trying out his newest cosplay outfit as Batman; the police said they have never seen Batman wear a see-thru, skin-toned leotard before… his family know him as Stephen but to everyone else he’s known simply as… Saxon

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
