It seems like Lucasfilm are in talks with ABC over a potential live-action Star Wars series.

At the first ever Television Critics Association executive session for new ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey over the past weekend, she was asked if she’d like to add a Star Wars TV series to her network,.

As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes,” she said. “The conversations with Lucas, we have had conversations with them, we will continue to have conversations with them. I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand with our programming.

It’s all a little bit hush-hush. That company exists under a big shroud of secrecy. If you feel Marvel is secretive, Lucas takes it to a whole ‘nother level. They are ongoing. We don’t have an official timeline yet.

Most Star Wars fans will remember George Lucas planning a live-action Star series set between Episodes III and IV when he was still in charge of Lucasfilm.

Star Wars: Underworld had a number of top TV writers on board including Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D Moore.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
