You may know her as Root from Person of Interest, or from various roles in the Whedonverse (yes, people do say that in real life!). But now, the talented actress is coming to Marvel in a very interesting way, playing a character we’ve only heard about in passing. Coulson’s Girlfriend.
Wait, Coulson had a girlfriend? Yes he did! If you recall, in Iron Man 2 and Avengers, Coulson mentioned “A cellist” he was quite fond of. Then earlier in the season, it was mentioned that “The Cellist” cried when she heard Coulson died. Well, now we’re finally going to meet her, and Ms. Acker is playing her!
Now, for those wanting a tearful reunion, that’s not exactly what’s going to happen. Coulson will be more of a guardians angel to her in her debut episode as he will be “guarding her from a distance as a super-powered threat from her past re-emerges.”
Cool huh? We think so as well! It’s unknown if she will appear more in the season, or if this is just a one-time thing. We’ll let you know when we get more info.
“The Cellist” will appear in the April 22nd episode of Agents of SHIELD.
