Carrie Fisher reveals when she’ll begin working on Star Wars: Episode VII

January 22nd, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Last week we let you know that The Big Bang Theory would finally be getting some guest stars from a galaxy far, far, away, Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones.

Today thanks to TV Guide, we have some details. Executive Producer Steven Molaro revealed:

“For the first time, the guys are unable to get in Comic-Con, so Sheldon attempts to start his own convention. He needs a killer panelist, but everyone on his list hangs up on him. So he sets his sights on James Earl Jones and tracks him down.”

Fisher makes what Molaro calls an “interesting” cameo in the January 30th episode.

But that’s not all. Carrie Fisher actually talked a little Star Wars with them. TV Guide reports that Fisher said that she, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill are expected to report to work in March or April.

As for the Princess Leia’s famous style:

“I’d like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again — but with white hair. I think that would be funny.”

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The movie is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older versions of their iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is expected to begin shooting in May of 2014 and will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
