Comic legend Frank Miller to return to the world of The Dark Knight for The Golden Child.

October 3rd, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

For those of you who aren’t up-to-date with your comic legends, Frank Miller is a god among men: he’s responsible for comics like Ronin, Daredevil: Born again, Batman: Year One and probably the most recognisable and iconic comic DC has ever done, The Dark Knight Returns.

Well, Frank is returning to DC for the next comic in The Dark Knight Series, The Golden Child.

This 48-page one-shot will be written by the one and only Frank Miller and is going straight into DC’s new Black Label created late last year in an attempt to consolidate all their comics together.

The Golden Child is set three years after The Dark Knight III: The Master Race and will primarily focus on Jonathan Kent, the son of Superman and Wonder Woman. In The Master Race we got a chance to see him as an infant alongside his sister Lara Kent (daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman) who was a bit more grown up and played a bit more of a pivotal role.

Miller briefly spoke about the upcoming comic with a little bit about what we can expect to see: “The possibilities for what he could be just started coming to mind like crazy,” he said, “I thought the contrast between him and Lara could be really exciting, Lara has so much power and passion, so for the little boy to embody all of the wisdom and intelligence of the Kryptonian race would be an exciting new dimension. He really sort of developed as a little floating Buddha, someone who when he wasn’t even a toddler yet was speaking in full sentences and had an understanding of events that surpassed anybody else’s. He’s the most magical member of the family.”

I mean can you just imagine a little bald baby Buddah speaking in full sentences and using his laser eyes to heat up his own milk? I can’t wait to see this one and I hope that one day this gets an animated version cos I for one can’t wait.

Dark Knight Returns: Golden Child will hit shelves on December 11th
