Dawn will come a little sooner. Batman v Superman moves to March 25, 2016

August 6th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Dawn will come nearly two months earlier than originally planned! Warner Bros. has moved the release of their highly anticipated superhero team-up Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to March 25, 2016.

The original date was July 17th, 2015, before it was delayed for 10 months. The second date of May 6, 2016 had the film opening opposite an untitled Marvel Studios’ film. When it was announced it was Cap 3, it was only a matter of time until they moved. Marvel had made it clear many times that they would not.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Zack Snyder is directing.

The cast includes Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman in the film, Ben Affleck is Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot is Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg is Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons is Alfred Pennyworth and Ray Fisher is Victor Stone/Cyborg. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles in the sequel. Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Scoot McNairy have unknown roles. Jason Momoa is all but confirmed as Aquaman.

It is scheduled to hit theaters in the US on March 25th, 2016. It’s not yet known if the April 29th date in UK still stands.
