First Look at Star Wars: Episode VII Stormtroopers?

August 15th, 2014 by Edwin Torres Jr 4 Comments

It was just a few days ago that artist Tom Hodges apparently got a sneak peek at what the Stormtroopers will look like in Episode VII, and shared his interpretation of the helmet on Instagram (above).

Well now according to Indie Revolver, we’ve got some pics of the designs. What they have to say:

“The sequel Stormtrooper helmet feels like a natural continuation from the original, but there are distinct differences. The helmet is not symmetrical – there’s only one breather/vent on the bottom near the mouth, on his left side. The black “mouth” area under the white nose plate appears to be a cloth/mesh (which you can better see in the detail shot below). The eye lenses are still separate, but set into a black frame to connect them and give the illusion of one single piece.”

Well what do you think? We’ll have to wait for some official pics to see if they’re the real deal, but they do fit with what we’ve been hearing.

Since John Boyega is rumored to a Stormtrooper deserter, will he be wearing something like this for at least a bit? Or might he be in disguise to hide his betrayal?

The cast for Episode VII includes Pip Anderson, Crystal Clarke, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the Saga Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18th, 2015.
