August 21st, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Greetings my fellow Nerds and Nerdettes from the far reaches of Space (well, kind of), as this coming weekend the Armagh Planetarium will be invaded by The Emerald Garrison.

Ireland’s Costuming Club, The Emerald Garrison, will be hosting its Heroes and Legends Weekend at The Armagh Planetarium, and it promises to be the biggest event they have ever held there.

Taking place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November, fans young and young at heart will get the opportunity to meet costumers from Star Wars, Star Trek, Ghostbusters and Harry Potter.

There will be over 30 costumers taking part over the weekend including Batman and Batgirl, Judge Dredd, Superman and Supergirl, not too mention V Shock Troopers and Colonial Marines from Aliens.

Fans will be able to meet the cosplayers, have their photo’s taken and even enjoy backdrops and props from a number of famous films, television programmes and even comic book settings.

Set in the grounds of the Armagh Planetarium, not only will visitors be able to see the stars in the galaxy surrounding us, they will be able to touch the real life characters from the films, just don’t get on Professor Snape’s bad side!

So for a truly out of this world experience this weekend, transport yourself to The Armagh Planetarium!
