Rocky IV and Expendables star Dolph Lundgren has been confirmed as joining the cast of Arrow in season 5 as a main villain.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the action star will play the Russian villain Kovar, mentioned briefly at the end of Arrow season 4.
Leonid Kovar, a.k.a. Red Star of the Teen Titans, was originally introduced as “Starfire” in 1968. However, the Russian teen hero changed his codename to Red Star when he rejoined the team after the new Starfire became a Titan. In comic books, Kovar has super strength, super speed, and energy powers which were granted to him by alien technology.
It is unknown whether Lundgren’s Kovar will have any connection to Red Star, or if he’ll have any superpowers.
