It seems that ABC is making Pixar holiday specials a network tradition. The Toy Story characters will return for a new Holiday-themed special on the channel airing at the end of 2014, titled Toy Story That Time Forgot.
The first ABC/Toy Story special, Toy Story of Terror aired this past October.
From the press release:
“During a post-Christmas play date, the ‘Toy Story’ gang find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room in this ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot.’”
The Disney-Pixar produced Christmas special will be directed by Steve Purcell, who wrote and co-directed 2012′s animated hit Brave. Returning voice actors include Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Wallace Shawn (Rex), Timothy Dalton (Mr. Pricklepants), Kristen Schaal (Trixie) and Joan Cusack (Jessie). Kevin Mckidd, who starred in HBO’s Rome and provided the voice for Soap MacTavish in Modern Warfare 2, joins the cast as Reptillus Maximus.
The Toy Story of Terror special grabbed 10.5 million viewers.
