The last we heard The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was to be the last film in the franchise that Andrew Garfield starred in and Marc Webb directed. Though Webb hope to stay on as a consultant.
Now a new report in the British tabloid The Daily Star , indicates that at least Garfield may be web slinging around for a bit longer.
Their info comes from a “senior source at Columbia Pictures.”
The insider claims that not only is Garfield is currently contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016, but they want him for longer:
“We are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying. The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses.”
To further sweeten the deal, it’s claimed Garfield’s also being offered a piece of the film’s box-office profits in order to keep him in web shooters.
For now we’ll file this under rumor. But what do you think?
