RUMOR: Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons in talks for lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII?

25-year-old actor Jesse Plemons, who starred in AMC’s Breaking Bad and on NBC’s Friday Night Lights is in consideration for a lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII, according to The Wrap.

“Plemons is scheduled to meet with director J.J.Abrams next week to discuss the highly anticipated sequel, which is expected to bring back original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Plemons has already taped an audition that was well-received by those involved in the casting process, and he’ll by flying in to Los Angeles from Austin, Texas for a second audition that will bring him face-to-face with Abrams.”

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The movie is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older versions of their iconic characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is expected to begin production in Spring of 2014 and will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
