The rumors started on the Super Hero Hype forums with a user claiming that Carrey had a role in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, thanks to a friend close to the production.
As you can see from the photo and tweet above, Carrey was actually on set back in March, but it went unnoticed until Comicbook.com did some research.
But is this proof that he’ll have a role or just a coincidence? Sure he could just be hanging out. It does seem to lend some credence to the rumor at the very least.
But if he is in the movie, who could he be playing?
The most popular fan theories include Kletus Kassady (Carnage), Mysterio, or J.J. Jameson.
Don’t forget rumors suggest a Sinister Six may be forming in a sequel.
