Earlier today Bleeding Cool revealed a rumor that James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) would be in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It seems HitFix has confirmed this rumor:
“HitFix can confirm that Col. Rhodes, aka War Machine, has a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel.”
We all know that Robert Downey Jr. has signed on for Age of Ultron and a third Avengers film, but after that who knows? Could War Machine fill Tony Stark’s Iron boots until he is recast? Cheadle does have a few films left on his contract.
The Joss Whedon sequel stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Spader.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015.
