Ok, this is a rumor, but given Marvel’s track record for doing certain movies/shows based on popularity of certain characters, it’s not unbelievable.

So, there are rumors that Marvel/ABC have plans for not one but TWO new Marvel series to come to ABC. One of which will be headed up by John Ridley. One of these series is said to be a possible Agents of Shield spinoff, while the other is meant to “reinvent” a known Marvel character.

Well, the John Ridley show may have been revealed in a (now deleted) Reddit posting. Stating that the show will be about Ms. Marvel.

No, not Carol Danvers, who’s getting a movie of her own later on in Phase 3, no, this series would allegedly be about Kamala Khan, the newest Ms. Marvel in the comics.

If you don’t know her, don’t feel bad, she’s a really new addition to the Marvel universe. Kamala Khan is actually an Inhuman, who uses her powers (and love of superheroes, seriously, BIG fangirl) to help people out as the guise of Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel in the comics). Along the way, she lives out her teenage life, and fights peoples fears of her via Islamaphobia.

Now, to be clear, this is NOT confirmed, and there are some obvious issues here. Mainly that Kamala backstory is heavily influenced by an EXISTING Carol Danvers, who has not appeared in the MCU or other series at all. Also, this could conflict with the Captain Marvel movie if not done right.

HOWEVER, as Agents of Shield has pointed out, you don’t need to reveal the big players to not have fun with the material. As they are proving with their current Inhumans storyline.

Whatever happens though, this will be something to keep an eye on as the story develops. Would you want a Ms. Marvel TV series? Let us know!
