RUMOR: WB and DC to release two lower budget comic book movies a year?

December 4th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

According to Bleeding, Cool David S. Goyer is involved in adapting several other DC comics into movie projects on significantly lower budgets, than his upcoming Batman Vs. Superman.

According to the report, the comics adaptations are Suicide Squad, Booster Gold, Team 7, and Deathstroke. All of which could be made with around a 20 to 40 million dollar budget each.

The plan is that Warner and DC would release two of these a year, one in spring and one in Fall, in addition to whatever higher-profile releases are already slated.

They go on to speculate that the studio will make an announcement along these lines in 2014, in order to challenge Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.

How does that sound to you?
