SDCC: Legend of Korra Lives on Via Nick.com

July 26th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Breathe easy Korra fans! Legend of Korra will STILL be airing both Season 3 AND Season 4. Now though, it’ll only be on Nick.com.

Why? Well, during the Legend of Korra Panel as SDCC creators  Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino noted that Legend of Korra has apparently had a huge online following since the very beginning of Book One. And that following has continued on to this day, to the degree that the online numbers VASTLY outweighed the broadcast numbers. Which ironically explains the pic we saw yesterday…

Konietzko also noted that Legend of Korra isn’t standard “Nickelodeon fare”, which if you think about it is true.

So, what does the future of Legend of Korra hold? Well, after tonight’s episode (review up soon), a new episode will air on Nick.com starting Aug. 1st, aka next week. That schedule will hold until Book Three is done. What about Book Four you ask? Well, Studio Mir is apparently finishing up Book Four right now, and a curious comment from the creators may point to the series being done by this time next year…

To reiterate, Korra is NOT CANCELLED!!! It’s just moving to a place where it’s apparently appreciated more. Breathe, Last Airbender and Legend of Korra fans, all is well.
