OK, you know sometimes you hear something you really don’t believe but you need to tell someone becuase, well, it’s just SO awesome?

Well, there’s a rumour gathering pace (ahem) online that Sheldon Cooper, or as he’s called in real life, Jim Parsons, is in the running to play The Flash in the Justice League. And no, there’s no Bazinga! coming, it’s apparently true…

Sheldon in the series is more often than not wearing Flash logo tees and often talks about the scarlet speedster. Although curiously, in real life Parsons now almost nothing about him, speaking at the Paley Fest, Parsons was heard telling reporters: “I know that he’s red and gold and moves quickly. But I do have a theory that a lot of times, actors do their best work when they are playing characters that they know little-to-nothing about—at first.”

Greg Berlanti who writes on Arrow, is on scripting duties for the Flash stand-alone movie, and although the studio is apparently keen on Parsons, nothing is expected to be announced for a while.

Ok, honestly? We don’t think there’s anything to this, but it’s the weekend and we thought we’d kick it off with something we love….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
