Teaser poster for Toy Story That Time Forgot roars in

July 23rd, 2014 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Last year’s Toy Story Of Terror turned out to be a fun reunion with Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang and managed to grab 10.5 million viewers. For their next event the Pixar team is adding every kid’s favorite thing…..dinosaurs, for Toy Story That Time Forgot. The new half-hour TV special has launched the teaser poster above in time for its panel at SDCC this week.

The poster is drawn by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, and features Reptillus Maximus, the leader of a group of dino-toys our heroes meet and who turn out to be suffering a similar delusion that once afflicted Buzz Lightyear, they think they’re real.

“During a post-Christmas play date, the ‘Toy Story’ gang find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room in this ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot.’”

The Disney-Pixar produced special will be directed by Steve Purcell, who wrote and co-directed 2012′s animated hit Brave. Returning voice actors include Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Wallace Shawn (Rex), Timothy Dalton (Mr. Pricklepants), Kristen Schaal (Trixie) and Joan Cusack (Jessie). Kevin Mckidd, who starred in HBO’s Rome and provided the voice for Soap MacTavish in Modern Warfare 2, joins the cast as Reptillus Maximus.

The SDCC panel will be held at 11:15am on Thursday in room 6A at the San Diego Convention Centre, moderated byPixar regular and composer Michael Giacchino with Schaal, producer Galyn Susman, director Steve Purcell and head of story Derek Thompson in attendance. And there will be a chance to grab the poster during a signing session at 1pm the same day on the convention floor.

The special will premiere on December 2nd on ABC. Here’s hoping that these new TV specials become an annual thing.
