If there is one person who comes to mind when thinking of movie artwork across the last few decades, it has to be poster Legend Drew Struzan. A man who has crafted some of the most iconic one sheets of all time for films such as Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, Star Wars, Blade Runner, The Goonies, First Blood, The Thing, The Muppet Movie, the Police Academy series, Hellboy, The Harry Potter series and more. The artist announced his retirement back in 2008, but since then a few people have gotten him to do a some things, like a poster for Jon Favreau‘s Cowboys and Aliens.
He is now getting a new documentary called Drew: The Man Behind The Poster, and it’s set to premiere at San Diego Comic-Con!
The screening will be held at San Diego’s Gaslamp 15 on July 19th. After that it is set to open in NYC on August 16th before a Stateside rollout on a very limited number of screens, no word on the UK yet.
The doc was directed by Erik P. Sharkey and will feature interviews with the likes of George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Michael J. Fox, Guillermo Del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many more.
