The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles AREN’T teenage? UPDATED: Paramount confirm they ARE teen – plus new posters

Ok, this movie has just been surrounded by hate since the moment it was announced… the fears (unfounded) that the Turtles were actually aliens… the news that Megan Fox was playing April O’Neill… the fact that Michael Bay was involved. Well, that could be just the tip of the iceberg if this one turns out to be true…

Comicbookmovie  have revealed new images of the upcoming toy line from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and they seem to suggest that the Turtles in the movie aren’t teenage (image at bottom of page)…

The figures, called Evolution Figure Packs, have the Turtles in three stages – pre-mutation turtle, teenage and fully grown. Now, the later version could be older teens thus maintaining the title or we may spend some time with the smaller characters in the movie, but if the main Turtles in the movie aren’t teenage then get ready for an epic wave of fanboy meltdowns…

Oh and here’s a new TV spot (literally grabbed from the TV) that gives us our first good look at Shredder in action…

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the film stars Megan Fox in the role of April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter and William Fichtner as Shredder with Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub lending their voices to Leonardo and Splinter respectively.

Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles will hit theaters on August 8th, 2014.

UPDATE: PARAMOUNT HAVE CONFIRMED THE TURTLES ARE TEENS IN THE MOVIE

NEW TMNT ART REVEALED:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
