Tim Blake Nelson in final talks to join The Fantastic Four

April 30th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

According to THR, Tim Blake Nelson is in final negotiations to join the cast of Twentieth Century Fox’s reboot of The Fantastic Four.

Nelson will play Harvey Elder, an eccentric and socially awkward scientist.

In the comics Elder is actually the Mole Man, shunned by humanity for his appearance. He finds Monster isle and becomes leader of a subterranean race known as the Moloids.

Sources tell THR that Mole Man will not appear in this movie, but Elder’s appearance does set up the character to be the villain in future installments of the franchise.

Nelson is known already to comic book movie fans for being in 2006’s The Incredible Hulk.

The cast for Fantastic Four includes Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell as the main heroes, and Toby Kebbell is playing the villain, Victor von Doom.

Josh Trank will direct the big screen adaptation from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg.

The Fantastic Four is currently set for a release on June 19th, 2015.
