This is a cool video! It’s Mark Hamill’s screen test as Luke Skywalker, with some help from his old, er new buddy Harrison Ford. This is a very very different version of the scene where the Millennium Falcon arrives at the place where Alderaan (or in this version Organa Major) used to be — but it’s been destroyed. There is a much more involved discussion of the situation, including the background radiation, a lot of talk of hidden bases, and that Leia knows mind control. There’s a long debate over what to do next.
At the end you can hear George Lucas tell Harrison he wants him to hang around……
