WATCH: Techland shows 12 minutes of Dying Light gameplay

August 16th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Announced at this year’s E3, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Dead Island developer Techland has shown off a dozen minutes of its upcoming first-person open-world zombie adventure Dying Light (via IGN).

“During the day, players will traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous. Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.”

That shift from day to night is what will separate this from other titles in the same vein, well that and the parkour. It seems that Dying Light transitions into something of a stealth game after sunset, though as soon as you’re spotted you’ll go right back to hightailing it, so it’s best to take it slow.

What do you think of Dying Light so far?

Dying Light is due in 2014 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
