Deadline is reporting that William Fichtner is cast in Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. No word on which character he’ll play. They do however state that he’ll play a lead role “with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology”. So unless he’s Casey Jones (Probably not) that doesn’t leave too many options that could be considered iconic except for,…  Shredder?

Shredder of course is Japanese, but so is Splinter who is played by Danny Woodburn. Have these guys ever heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before? Are they just making this stuff up as they go?

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the film features a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco, and is based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The film stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek , Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, and Danny Woodburn.
