X-Men: Days of Future Past hasn’t even come to theaters yet, and already we’re getting more info about the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse.
And oh the things we’re hearing!
Speaking in an interview about how Apocalypse will compare to the other films, screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg said:
“We want to tell the Apocalypse story and there’s massive scale and scope to telling that story. There’s going to be set pieces that I suspect are going to be bigger than anything we’ve ever done in an X-Men movie before and he’s a great character. The biggest and funnest challenge of the Apocalypse movie to me is his character. How do you create a new villain for the X-Men world that is as good as any villain that’s come before, is compelling philosophically as Magneto, not just in his physical powers, but in his philosophical depth. ‘Apocalypse’ is going to be a fun movie to write and make.”
Very cool, but that’s not all…
When talking about what’s to come next, we got some placement on how Days of Future Past should be perceived. Director Bryan Singer revealed:
“My next goal is how did the X-Men come together? That story hasn’t been told yet, so [Days Of Future Past] is the inbetweequel. It’s in between the birth of that relationship with Charles and Erik and the formation of the X-Men.”
This would make it a perfect period to re introduce X-Men characters of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm wouldn’t it?
When SciFiNow put the question to Singer he answered:
“Yeah, exactly.”
Time will time, stay tuned for more info! Meanwhile, be sure to check out X-Men: Days of Future Past coming out May 22nd!
