Earlier this month it was announced that Homeland‘s Rupert Friend would replace the late Paul Walker in the title role of Agent 47 in Fox’s Hitman movie. It was thought to be a reboot, but it now being reported as a sequel.
Deadline is reporting that Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), will join the film in an unspecified role.
As the site points out the 2007 Hitman film, starring Timothy Olyphant (Justified), actually grossed just shy of $100M worldwide ($99.96M).
The movie will be directed by Aleksander Bach from a script by Skip Woods and Michael Finch.
Agent 47 begins shooting this March.
