Alan Tudyk says he’d love to do the Blue Beetle and Booster Gold movie with Nathan Fillion…

October 25th, 2015 by Marc Comments

After it was reported a few weeks back that a Booster Gold and Blue Beetle movie was at the planning stages at DC/Warners with Arrow and Flash’s Greg Berlanti at the helm, we’d be liars if we said we weren’t really excited….

Then when, at Wizard World Comic Con a couple of weeks ago, FTN favourite Nathan Fillion said he’d love a crack at playing Booster Gold, which had us all thinking that we’d love to see Fillion in the DC Universe – after all, his presence in the Marvel universe didn’t really do him justice – and so we were thinking about who could play Blue Beetle alongside him.

And the answer was right in front of us the whole time…

At NYCC Alan Tudyk was asked by Comicbook if he’d be up for it and, we much admit that apparently he was in the dark about not just the movie but the character too… however, he did say that it was great to here that he was a name the fans were attaching to the role: “Well, that’s great. If it’s working with Nathan, I’m in. Also, being a bug for me? I’d like that. Roly-poly is nice. I’d like to be one of them. That’s what we called them back in Texas, but they’re almost a beetle.”

So, what do you think? Would the pairing of Wash and Mal, the Con Men, Fillion and Tudyk be something you’d be excited for? Could you see their brand of crazy in the DC Universe, where Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman now exist? We say yes, the idea of such diversity in that universe makes us pretty excited…

It’s all speculation but sometime from small ideas, come great things… tell the truth, you can totally see them as these two

Sound off in the usual ways…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
