Get ready for the new daily show

Amy Pascal just said the Sony movies, including Venom, ARE related to the MCU movies…

Ok, so remember just a few short days ago Marvel Movie boss Kevin Feige was talking about, among other things, the Sony Spider-man related movies (here)? That would be primarily Venom and Silver and Black? And he said they had nothing to do with the MCU?

Yeah, well, something weird just happened.

During an interview with Feige and Sony head Amy Pascal, the question came up about the movies again and this time, in front of a very surprised looking Feige, she confirmed the movies that Sony were making WERE related to the MCU!

Wait, what?!

Pascal talked about the movies, about how awesome a job Feige is doing with the MCU and how excited they are for Tom Holland’s Spider-man and how their movies will run alongside those movies. Heck, she even wouldn’t rule out the idea that Holland’s Spider-man could make an appearance!!!

Feige, when you watch the video below, you’ll see, looks pretty shocked.

So, what’s happening?

Well, one of two things, perhaps. Either Pascal isn’t sure of the proper goings on of the Sony movies and made a mistake OR she dropped a reveal that Feige and everyone were hoping to drop at a later date.

But, if this IS how it’s going to be… and we’re all for it… wouldn’t it have just been easier to keep Sony’s Amazing Spider-man movies starring Andrew Garfield in the same continuity? And just worked him into the MCU?

We reckon if this does turn out to be true then we can expect them to be similar to the Netflix shows wherein they exist in the same universe but probably won’t influence events in the MCU.

We expect to hear more on this story over the next few days but this is potentially big, exciting news indeed.
