With COVID-19 putting a bit of a dampner on the movie world with almost every movie now on hold, this is giving directors and producers a bit of time to talk to the public and answer some questions about their work, and last week one of the Aquaman writers did just that.
Aquaman co-writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick was chatting on Twitter about the horror spin-off from Aquaman, The Trench, and when it will take place, whether it will be between Aquaman and Aquaman 2 or if it will be After both.
“Theoretically, this will be taking place between Aquaman 1 and 2 however some of the logistics and other bits and pieces are still in the works so who knows what will happen,” he says.
This could also mean that we may see a few flashbacks to the first movie and maybe even see some flashbacks to things we haven’t see yet.
Next question was one that I’ve been wanting to know myself and that’s if the Aquaman sequel will have anything from the comics’ source material.
“Now there isn’t just the one answer for this as its not based one just one comic in particular,” Johnson-McGoldrick writes, “instead it seems to be based on a number of different ones all based in the Silver Age and any that heavily feature Black Manta.”
In the mean time, if you want to know more about The Trench I strongly suggest taking a look into the Silver Age and what the lord of the deep gets up to.
Until next time, stay nerdy folks.
