So Julie Delpy and Linda Cardinelli – yes, we still love her from Scooby Doo as Velma, ok?! – have been revealed by Disney as being in Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Before Midnight actress Delpy and Cardinelli were on a cast list that Disney released earlier today and Disney have confirmed that it’s not an error, they are in the movie.

No word on who they are playing – we’re stumped – but they are certainly two great actresses and we’re wondering if it has anything to do with Joss Whedon saying a couple of weeks ago that there will be some comic characters in the movie that we haven’t heard about yet.

Care to guess who they might be below?

“When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

The team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.”

Written and directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Kretschmann, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, Stellan Skarsgard and James Spader.

The Age of Ultron begins in the UK on April 24th, and in the US on May 1st, 2015.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
