OK, before we go any further, there’s a lot of speculation and rumour and general fan chatter so, while we don’t apologise for it, we do want you to know…

First, the fact within this all – Deathstroke himself, Joe Manganiello, was talking to ET and when asked how things were, he commented: “Great, man, just getting ready to go shoot Batman in the spring.”

So when exactly that is is unclear, but we expect it to be around April 2017, and we’re taking it as meaning that Ben Affleck is getting close to finishing the script… we look forward to news closer to the time.

So, now for the fun part:

Anna Kendrick wants to be Robin in the DCCU:

(continues after video)

And it looks like, speaking of Deathstroke above, she has Slade Wilson’s blessing for the role:

Now, while we doubt there’s anything to it, it’s cool that Robin is in the conversation for the new DC Cinematic Universe and we all know there’s been female Robins before, so we definitely won’t rule it out… after all, the cinematic universe has the opportunity to built its own timeline now so Robin may become Carrie Kelley or Stephanie Brown… or maybe even Helena Wayne right out of the stables.

And while we’re not sure she’s the choice for Robin, the more we think about it – and we do – the more we think she’d be a great Barbera Gordon and, more specifically, Batgirl.

On another note, there’s a lot of rumours online tying The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun to the role of the older Dick Grayson AKA Nightwing.

While everyone is waiting to see who Negan kills in next week’s The Walking Dead (here), the safe money is on – MINOR SPOILERS – Glenn; mostly because he’s the one Negan executes in the comics.

Now, while we’re royally speculating here, if Glenn does get killed then Yeun will possibly have free time on his schedule… so maybe there’s something to it.

We doubt it, in all honesty, but we do love to speculate.

What do you all think? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
