Black Widow (and other MCU movies) and Indiana Jones 5 get new release dates

April 3rd, 2020 by Marc Comments

When the current worldwide upset kicked off a few weeks ago and all our favourite movies started getting delayed/pushed back/sent to streaming etc, we felt like we were in a pit of despair.

Personally, the thing that annoyed me most was when movies got pushed back and no release date given… it just felt like we don’t know if this nightmare will ever end. One such movie was Black Widow.

But now, as a little ray of sunshine, we have a release date not just for Black Widow but the current/future MCU entires too.

And it seems that Marvel, quite understandably, has simply ignored Black Widow’s original release date (next month) and pushed it into The Eternals’ November date. The Eternals has then moved to Shang-Chi’s release date and so forth, so the new line-up looks like this:

Black Widow – November 6th, 2020
The Eternals – February 12th, 2021
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings – May 7th, 2021
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – November 5th, 2021
Thor: Love and Thunder – February 18th, 2022

So, this is a little glimmer of hope that well before the end of the year we’ll be back in cinemas enjoying the MCU and more and we’ll still have so much to look forward to… but in the meantime, stay indoors where you can, remember if you go out to maintain social distancing and have faith that this will all turn out ok. And remember that FTN will be here with you every step of the way.

On top of this, Indiana Jones 5, previously scheduled for a July 9th, 2021 is now set for July 29th, 2022 which was a date previously set for an untitled Marvel Studios film believed to be Captain Marvel 2.

Interestingly, Disney have given Mulan a new release date July 24th, 2020… unless Disney knows something we don’t (let’s hope they do), this feels very unlikely at the minute.

Excelsior!
